RCC Ecological Fund

The Fund implements projects aimed at improving environmental conditions, solving environmental problems and protecting nature. These include programmes to improve the ecological situation and measures to restore land whose fertility has been significantly reduced as a result of human activity. The Fund’s activities also include design and survey work regarding environmental protection, sustainable management of natural resources, restoration of disturbed land and elimination of accumulated environmental damage, as well as reforestation and land improvement.

The RCC Ecological Fund provides methodological assistance in implementing projects aimed at restoring and eliminating accumulated environmental damage; conducts environmental surveys and monitors the level of environmental pollution; shares experience and information (including the results of environmental studies) with the professional community to address pressing environmental issues. The Fund also works with government agencies, urban communities, activists, and the media to promote careful attitude to the environment and engage the public in solving environmental problems.

Thus, in 2023, the Fund, in collaboration with the Ural Forestry University, carried out research to develop recommendations for improving technologies that should enhance the efficiency of creating forest cultures adapted to the specific conditions of the forest-steppe zone of the Southern Urals (when conducting compensation measures by the subsoil user), and their subsequent agrotechnical care.

The implementation of these recommendations has already begun in the compensatory reforestation carried out by RMC. In this way, the Company confirms its commitment to the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility, making a significant contribution to the conservation and restoration of Russia’s natural resources.
