RCC Charity Fund supported the “Generous Tuesday” campaign
The total amount of donations exceeded RUB 7.9 million.
Russian Copper Company Charity Fund took part in the Generous Tuesday International Charity Day. More than RUB 7.9 million were donated to develop sports infrastructure in Ekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region, to help patients of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Ekaterinburg and the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Chelyabinsk (mainly, to purchase medicines for little cancer patients), to finance a charity canteen in Ekaterinburg, to organize New Year's holidays for children with special needs, to purchase New Year's gifts for children from low-income families, to help the regional non-profit organization of persons with disabilities, to purchase hearing aids for children who are hard of hearing, and other significant projects.
RCC Charity Fund was founded in 2005 upon the initiative of Igor Altushkin, Chairman of the RCC's Board of Directors, and his wife Tatiana Altushkina.
The fund's priority tasks include targeted assistance to children with cancer and children with severe pathologies of the hearing and visual organs, as well as supporting children's medical institutions in the Urals and assisting underprivileged citizens in the territories where RCC is present. Besides, the foundation cooperates with Russian charity organizations that help children with cancer and hematological diseases.
Since 2017, RCC Charity Fund has been a member of the Donors Forum, a Russian association of grant-giving organizations that brings together funds and companies that systematically engage in charity work. The members of the “Donors Forum” are 38 charity organizations and the largest companies from various sectors of the Russian economy.
“Generous Tuesday” is the International Charity Day. In Russia, the event has been held since 2016 and is aimed at bringing together non-profit organizations, businesses, government agencies, initiative groups, and individuals to promote charity. The event has gained widespread recognition in more than 100 countries. The Russian coordinator of this initiative is the KAF Foundation for the Support and Development of Philanthropy.
RCC Charity Fund has been participating in the “Generous Tuesday” campaign since 2017.
